Lancaster VA Outpatient Clinic

About

Community-Based Outpatient Clinics, or CBOCs, were implemented by the Veterans Administration as a means of providing veterans quality primary care in convenient and accessible locations. Prior to the availability of these types of clinics veterans in rural or less-populated areas had to travel long distances to receive basic care from larger VA Medical Centers. The Lancaster VA Outpatient Clinic is one such clinic that operates under the umbrella of the Lebanon VA Medical Center located in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The Lebanon VA Medical Center provides acute medical, surgical, and behavioral health care to local veterans. It is a general medicine and surgery facility with a total of 49 hospital beds, 136 nursing homes beds, and 63 PRRTP beds. Lebanon VA Medical Center is also designated as a teaching hospital, providing patients with state-of-the-art technology accompanied by ongoing education and research. One-third of the employees at Lebanon VA Medical Center are veterans themselves, providing comprehensive care for those who have served and now reside in Pennsylvania Dutch country. This facility is one of ten medical centers that comprise the VISN 4.
