Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Center
Lovell FHCC, based in North Chicago, was established October 1, 2010. The medical center is a first-of-its-kind partnership between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. The partnership allows full integration of all medical care into a single federal health facility, with a combined mission to treat all veterans and current active personnel. With a combination of services and resources from the North Chicago VA Medical Center (VAMC) and the Naval Health Clinic Great Lakes (NHCGL), Lovell FHCC serves active military personnel, their families, military retirees, and veterans. The USS Tranquility clinic ensures that nearly 40,000 Navy recruits transitioning through the Great Lakes Naval Station are medically ready.
The main facility is located in North Chicago, Illinois, where Lovell FHCC provides a full spectrum of health care. In addition to 1077 Tranquility, other medical clinics at the Great Lakes Naval Station are 2017 Osborne, 1523 Red Rover, and 237 Fisher Clinic.
