Dr. Bartlett is the Bernard Fisher Professor of Surgery at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine. He is also vice chairman for surgical oncology and gastrointestinal services at UPMC as well as director of the David D. Koch Regional Perfusion Cancer Therapy Center. In addition to the previously stated, Dr. Bartlett is also director of Multidisciplinary Disease Site Clinical and Research Programs for the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.
Educational Background
Dr. Bartlett received his undergraduate degree at Rice University in Houston and his medical degree at the University of Texas. Following his graduation from med school, he completed a residency in general surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. After his residence he completed a fellowship getting specialty training in the field of surgical oncology at Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He is now board certified in general surgery.

Dr. Bartlett has a specific interest in research related to treating advanced carcinomas in the peritoneal cavity. He has aided in developing a method for delivery of hyperthermia and chemotherapy directly to the peritoneal cavity as a re-circulating perfusion. This technique allows those with diseases confined to the peritoneal cavity access to chemotherapy agents.
