Portland VA Medical Center

The Portland VA Medical Center, which is a 303-bed consolidated facility, is set on 28.5 acres at the top of Marquam Hill, which overlooks the city of Portland. This facility is located at 3710 SW U.S. Veterans Hospital Rd. in Portland, Oregon, area code 97239. The facility can be reached by phone at (503) 220-8262 or (800) 949-1004. It serves as the referral center for Oregon, Southern Washington, and parts of Idaho, providing comprehensive medical and mental health services to veterans in this area. These services include:

The Portland VAMC has also received numerous awards and accreditations for their notable accomplishments. These include their 2009 Oregon Governor’s Film Advocate Award, an Environmental Excellence Award, a Magnet Designation, a 2005 Outstanding Employer Award, accreditation with the College of American Pathologists and shared medical appointments.

The facility also acts as a teaching hospital, maintaining an affiliation with the Oregon Health & Sciences University. Each year, the Portland VAMC trains over 1,200 University residents, interns and students. In addition, the center maintains nursing student affiliations with other local colleges and universities.
