The Dalles Community Based Outpatient Clinic

Along with several other facilities, the Dalles Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) serves in support of the Portland VA Medical Center. The clinic is located at 704 veterans Drive in the Dalles, Oregon. The facility can be reached by phone by dialing (503) 220-8262 or toll free at (800) 949-1004.

The Portland VA Medical Center, the parent medical center of the Dalles, is a 303-bed consolidated facility where patients go for a wider array of services. Patients unable to be treated at the Dalles CBOC can receive referral from this facility to the main hospital. Generally, such smaller clinics act in support of the larger hospital, providing outpatient, primary and preventative healthcare to veterans in a conveniently-located, more intimate setting.

Before receiving services with the Dalles CBOC or any of the facilities in the Portland VA Medical system, patients must determine their eligibility. Eligible patients should contact the facility ahead of time to set up an appointment and find out what services are offered, as they can vary based on location. Also, patients must do everything in their power to notify the facility well in advance if an appointment cannot be kept, allowing for prompt rescheduling and the facility’s ability to schedule another patient in that vacated time slot. Services offered at the Portland VA Medical Center include the following:

  • Audiology and Speech/Language Pathology
