Crawford County Primary Care Clinic
The Crawford County Primary Care Clinic is part of the Veterans Administration’s efforts to provide local primary health care to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Outpatient clinics such as this one allow veterans to have convenient access to basic medical needs without the added hassle of traveling long distances to be seen at larger facilities. The Crawford County Primary Care Clinic operates as a satellite clinic under the umbrella of the Erie VA Medical Center, which has been in operation since 1951 and has always served solely as a veterans hospital. The Crawford Clinic is one of five community-based outpatient clinics that operate under the direction of the main facility in Erie.
The Crawford County Primary Care Clinic provides primary health care services including:

The clinic also provides behavioral health services on-site which include intake, all varieties of counseling, and medication management. These behavioral services are available both in-person and via video teleconferencing from the larger facilities.
When a veteran requires services that are outside of the scope of the Crawford Clinic, referrals can be made to the larger medical center in Erie. The Erie VA Medical Center is recognized as one of the top-performing medical centers as it pertains to the delivery of high-quality health care. The Erie VA Medical Center is classified as a general medical and surgical facility that also includes an outpatient behavioral health clinic offering group and individual counseling, PTSD, substance abuse, suicide prevention, and chronic mental illness treatment. The medical center also supports a geriatrics and extended care program consisting of community living centers, respite care, inpatient hospice, home-based primary care, as well as geriatric and evaluation management services.
