The material asbestos has been known for longevity, durability, and heat resistance. During the time asbestos was in heavy usage for electrical parts, most people didn’t consider it a dangerous product. It was considered amazing and a miracle product. For years asbestos has been in used in electrical panel partitions as an insulator.
Electrical panel partitions were in high demand during the time of the Second World War. Asbestos was used in these partitions, which simply functioned to divide wiring systems, since it would not catch fire if the system shorted out. If one part of a system did catch fire, the asbestos panels would make sure the fire was contained to that area.
