Williamsport Community-Based Outpatient Clinic


The Williamsport Community-Based Outpatient Clinic is a subsidiary of the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center, offering primary outpatient care for veterans in and around Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Satellite clinics such as this one allow the VA to provide veterans with general health care without the added expense of traveling longer distances to larger facilities. These types of clinics are especially useful for those veterans located in more rural parts of the country; this clinic in particular is located 84 miles from its parent facility, making medical services more easily accessible and convenient.

The clinic’s parent facility, the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center has been providing United States veterans with residing in 18 counties in Pennsylvania and one county of New York for over 50 years. While the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center is not equipped to handle emergency care services they do have a variety of programs and medical services available.


Veterans visiting the Williamsport Community-Based Outpatient Clinic can receive Primary Care Services, laboratory and diagnostic testing, immunizations, mental health services, social work services, tele-nutrition, and prescriptions through the VA’s unique system which allows patients to access refills through the mail, over the phone, in person, or through their recently added in line system.

At this location veterans can also receive referrals to the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center or any other facility deemed necessary within the VA’s comprehensive healthcare system. At the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center veterans can take part in the following medical and health services:
