Myrtle Beach Community Based Outpatient Clinic
The Myrtle Beach Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) is located on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. This facility, which has 16 treatment rooms, provides a variety of primary care and mental health services, in addition to digital radiology. Serving over 7,000 patients in Horry County and other surrounding communities, this facility is located at 3381 Phillis Blvd. in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The facility serves patients Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and can be reached by phone at (843) 477-0177. If patients are unable to receive the care they need at this facility, they can access a comprehensive array of primary, secondary, and tertiary care services at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, which is 83 miles away in Charleston, South Carolina. The Myrtle Beach CBOC is one of four community-based outpatient clinics supporting this main hospital. The other support clinics are located in Savannah, Georgia; Beaufort, South Carolina; and Goose Creek, South Carolina. To access the services of the Myrtle Beach facility, or any other CBOC, patients must first ensure their eligibility for receiving VA health care. This can be done by accessing and completing the application for health care benefits, which can be found on the VA system website. After determining eligibility, patients must make an appointment to be seen at the Myrtle Beach CBOC. This clinic does not offer urgent or emergency care. To best serve the veteran population of the area, patients are also asked to promptly notify the facility of any issues with keeping an existing appointment, should a situation arise. This allows the administrators to reschedule the appointment quickly and get another patient into the vacated spot.
