About Lebanon VAMC

The Lebanon VA Medical Center is located in Pennsylvania Dutch country and is part of a system of ten total medical centers that comprise VISN 4. Lebanon VAMC’s main campus is located in South Lebanon Township, with six community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) located throughout south central Pennsylvania. These facilities work to serve over 2000,000 veterans across nine total counties. Other facilities include an outreach clinic in Fort Indiantown Gap and a Vet Center in Harrisburg, Pennslyvania.

Along with offering medical care for both long-term inpatient needs and outpatient services, Lebanon VAMC is also a teaching hospital providing its patients with care supported through ongoing education and research, as well as utilizing state-of-the-art-technology. The medical center is affiliated with the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. Residency programs are available in a variety of programs from family practice to internal medicine, and numerous specialties. One third of the employees of Lebanon are veterans themselves, and they provide 25.2 VA funded resident positions which results in approximately 150 medical fellows and residents receiving training every year. Additionally, the Lebanon VAMC provides training to over 55 third and fourth year medical students from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. 106 other academic affiliations in a wide variety of disciplines are also available at this facility.

Lebanon VAMC provides veterans with a total of 248 authorized beds, of which 49 are hospital, 136 part of their nursing home, and 63 labeled PRRTP.


As previously mentioned the Lebanon VAMC is home to a variety of inpatient and outpatient services and specialties. Recently, the center added specialized diagnostic services to their repertoire, including MRIs and nuclear medicine. Currently under construction is a brand new ICU/urgent care clinic addition. The center provides acute medical, surgical, and behavioral health care as a means of providing comprehensive health care for the nation’s veterans. Also available are a full range of home care and community services including home-based care primary care, homemaker home health care, community residential care, adult day health care, and homeless veteran care.
