Georgia Cancer Specialists is a Top 10 private cancer practice in the United States, as well as a leader in advanced cancer treatment and research. GCS has 31 offices, 45 physicians, and more than 500 support staff members located in Metro Atlanta, North and Central Georgia, Southeast Tennessee and Southwest North Carolina. The physicians of Georgia Cancer Specialists have trained at some of the most prestigious cancer centers, including Emory University School of Medicine, Georgetown University School of Medicine, Stanford University, and Cornell University Medical College.

This practice offers community-based medical oncology and hematology services and is the first private oncology practice to also provide a full range of support services for patients in Georgia, including nutritional counseling, pain management, wellness counseling, and home health coordination. The Georgia Cancer Specialists Research Department is also the first in Georgia to offer Phase I clinical trials. The Georgia Cancer Specialists research department brings targeted cancer therapy, previously available only at major academic centers, to community offices.

The clinical research programs at Georgia Cancer Specialists focus on making targeted cancer therapy accessible to as many patients as possible. With four research sites in Metro Atlanta and Macon, GCS patients across the state are able to take part in clinical trials, aiding in cancer research and new treatment methods.

Awards and Recognition

An international group of investigators, including Dr. Mansoor Saleh, principal investigator and Director of Clinical Research at Georgia Cancer Specialists, was recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Several doctors associated with GCS have been named as major contributors to their field, such as oncologist Dr. Stephen M. Szabo who was named “Top Doc” by Atlanta Magazine.

Integrative Medicine

The physicians of Georgia Cancer Specialists recognize that treating the mind, body, and spirit of cancer patients helps to give them a better quality of life before, during, and after cancer treatment.
